FAQ

Where are newborn sessions held?

Sessions can take place in my cozy in-home studio in Johnstown, PA.

How do I know you’ll handle my baby safely?

Your baby’s safety is always my first priority. I’ve completed professional newborn photography and safety courses, I’m certified in infant CPR, and I’m fully vaccinated. I also have years of hands-on experience gently posing, soothing, and caring for newborns during sessions.

How long does a newborn session last?

Newborn sessions typically run 1.5–3 hours. A good portion of that time is spent feeding, soothing, and ensuring your baby is comfortable and relaxed. I never rush, and I follow your baby’s cues for posing and breaks.

When should I schedule my newborn session?

Newborns are best photographed within their first 2–3 weeks, when they’re extra sleepy and flexible. I recommend booking in your early second trimester so I can reserve space on my calendar. Once baby arrives the set date/time are scheduled but don’t worry—I keep time open each month since little ones don’t always arrive on schedule!

What do I need to bring?

Please bring enough formula/breastmilk for up to 4 hours, extra diapers, and a pacifier (even if you don’t typically use one—I’ll always respect your wishes). If siblings are coming, I ask that another adult (dad, grandma, aunt, etc.) joins to help so the session stays safe and calm.

Can siblings be included in photos?

Yes! Depending on the package you choose, sessions can include parent and/or sibling portraits with your newborn. Toddlers are usually photographed first, and then they can play outside or head home with a family member after their part is finished.

What props and outfits are available?

You’ll have full access to my collection of props, which includes outfits, wraps, headbands, hats, bonnets, florals, baskets, bowls, and more. Before your session, you’ll choose a theme or color palette, and I’ll prepare everything. If you’d like to bring your own items, keep it simple—solid colors and clean, minimal patterns work best.

What about baby skin blemishes?

Every newborn has little details like acne, redness, or dry skin. I gently retouch each photo to ensure your baby’s natural beauty shines through, while keeping the images authentic.
